Job summary

Yolk Recruitment are supporting a leading food manufacturing business with a newly created Supply Chain Lead role at Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire. You will ensure materials, stock and packaging are available to support production and customer requirements, collaborating with Planning, Procurement and Warehouse teams.

The role focuses on maintaining stock accuracy, minimising waste and ensuring a smooth flow of materials through a busy operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in supply chain, materials planning, inventory management, stock control or logistics in manufacturing.
• Strong experience in food manufacturing or FMCG environments.
• Proven ability to manage inventory levels and ensure material availability for production.
• Experience planning raw materials and packaging against production schedules or forecasts.
• Understanding of stock rotation, inventory optimization, and waste reduction.
• Experience collaborating with Production Planning, Procurement and Warehouse teams.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret forecasts, monitor stock trends and resolve supply issues.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with ownership of operational challenges.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material and product requirements with Production Planners to ensure correct stock for production and on-time delivery.
• Manage inventory levels and stock accuracy; support regular stock counts and reconciliations.
• Oversee stock rotation to minimise waste and maintain product availability.
• Plan and place orders for raw materials and packaging per production needs and forecasts.
• Monitor material availability and address shortages to meet delivery commitments.
• Analyse stock trends and consumption to optimise inventory and reduce excess stock.
• Monitor customer orders vs forecasts, flag variances and take action to minimise shortages.
• Resolve day-to-day supply chain issues and communicate with relevant departments to prevent disruption.
• Support continuous improvement to improve inventory accuracy and overall efficiency.
