Job description

The Supply Chain Data Analyst role is a support role to our Demand Planning team, you will support the analysis and interpretation of data to help forecast demand and improve inventory management. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in gathering, cleaning, and analysing data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and relevance. You will collaborate with team members to identify trends and patterns that inform our demand planning processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your analytical skills and gain hands-on experience in data analysis, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain operations.

Your Tasks

Data Collection and Cleaning: Gather data from various sources, ensuring it is accurate, complete, and formatted correctly for analysis.

Data Analysis: Conduct preliminary analyses to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in demand data, providing insights that support demand forecasting.

Reporting: Create and maintain regular reports and dashboards that summarize key metrics and findings for the Demand Planning team and other stakeholders.

Collaboration: Work closely with team members to understand their data needs and provide analytical support for ongoing projects and initiatives.

Forecasting Support: Assist in the development of demand forecasts by analysing historical data and market trends, contributing to more accurate planning.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving data collection and analysis processes, helping to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.

Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of data sources, methodologies, and analytical processes to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

Ad-hoc Analysis: Respond to ad-hoc data requests from team members and stakeholders, providing timely and relevant insights as needed.

Learning and Development: Continuously develop your analytical skills and knowledge of demand planning processes, tools, and best practices.

Stakeholder Communication: Communicate findings and insights effectively to team members and other departments, ensuring that data-driven decisions are well-informed.

Your Profile

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, SQL, or Python/R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create reports and dashboards.
  • Basic understanding of statistical concepts and methods used in data analysis and forecasting.
  • Ability to analyse complex data sets, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity in analyses and reports.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team and collaborate with various departments.
  • A proactive mindset to identify issues and propose data-driven solutions to improve demand planning processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain clear documentation of data sources, methodologies, and processes.

Preferred

  • Experience in FMCG
  • 1 year+ in a Supply Chain or Sales role (preferably in a similar role)
