Siemens Healthineers has an opening for a Supplier Quality Engineer at our In-Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) instrumentation / reagent manufacturing site in Llanberis, Gwynedd, North Wales. The Supplier Quality team works cross functionally with engineering, production, and procurement with responsibilities focused on maintaining a high level of delivered quality parts from our suppliers.

The Llanberis site is currently involved in new product introductions, so this is an exciting time to join an existing team of Quality professionals to help develop the future processes of the Llanberis manufacturing site. The successful applicant will report directly to the Instrumentation Quality Assurance Manager and is a member of the wider Quality Management team, collectively responsible for maintaining and improving quality & compliance in the manufacture and support of our products and services.

Your Role:

  • Onboarding new suppliers and supporting existing suppliers to deliver high quality parts, conducting supplier audit across our supply base in Europe, reviewing supplier performance and driving continuous improvements with our suppliers through supplier performance reviews.
  • To develop world-class supply chain processes to suit a low volume, high complexity multi-technology environment (diagnostic instrumentation).
  • This role is responsible for a key support activity onsite supporting our supplier quality management services within an ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulatory environment.
  • To manage our suppliers to deliver quality product to our internal customers, through product & process investigations & evaluations.
  • Liaising with a wide variety of external suppliers to ensure suppliers are trained and adhere to Siemens First Articles, Quality and Regulatory requirements.
  • Issuing of Supplier Corrective Action Reports and working with suppliers on Root Cause Investigations and Corrective action.
  • Conducting Supplier Performance Reviews and Reporting of Key Supplier Quality metrics.

Your Expertise:
  • Ideally with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a Quality Engineering role.
  • Minimum of a third level qualification (Diploma/Degree) in an appropriate discipline (Quality Management, Mechatronics, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering) OR appropriate and commensurate experience.
  • Experience in leading and being a part of teams and projects with strong communications written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in technically complex multi discipline areas across the whole supply chain, including the supplier environment.
  • Inspection Methodologies such as; Fabricated/Machined Metal Mechanical/Visual inspection, Precision linear measurement, non-contact measurement, Moulded and Machined plastics inspection and measurement.
  • Geometrical Tolerancing (e.g. true position, perpendicularity, concentricity, angularity, roundness etc.).
  • Excellent Communication skills both oral and written.
  • Lead auditing experience to both ISO 9004:2015 and ISO 13485:2016.
  • Ideally have a working knowledge of Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis and Lean principles for investigations, problem solving and continuous improvement.
