Warwickshire Police in Rugby is seeking a Supervisor for the Warwickshire Road Safety Unit to oversee administration and frontline speed enforcement support. The role combines leadership of a small team, process improvement, and ensuring compliance with national guidelines and legislation.
You will coordinate workload, guide staff, and respond to public requests while maintaining high standards of professional service and ethical policing across the Warwickshire Police Area.

The main purpose of the role is to assist in providing a professional, effective and ethical enforcement service across the Warwickshire Police Area. Providing advice and support to managers and staff internally and externally on road safety and speed enforcement matters
To provide the first level of management for administration resources within the Warwickshire Road Safety Unit.
To supervise the performance of all office resources and provide direction and guidance in the administration of Speeding/Red light/ Red X offences.
Ensuring workloads are prioritised to meet all targets whilst maintaining a smooth flow of demand through the unit.
To review and monitor working practices continually ensuring that all processes meet national guidelines best practice and legislative requirements.
Provide supervision to ensure that team members are inspired and motivated to perform their duties, managing their welfare and development through coaching and mentoring and promote safe working practices.
Responsible for the daily coordinating of the Warwickshire Road Safety Demand.
Provide ethical decision making in the management of demand.
Monitor and support all team members with their workflow ensuring effective team working.
To respond to initial complaints received from the public escalating as appropriate to the Manager of the unit.
To respond to all Freedom of Information requests and internal and external requests for information from the unit escalating as appropriate to the Manager of the unit
To ensure accurate and timely updating of all force systems used within the unit in accordance with force and national policy and legislative requirements such as EROS CORE, Pentip and PNC.
To collate and provide management information as requested by the manager
To highlight service improvements, propose changes to processes and implement under the guidance of the Manager.
To support the Manager for all buildings and facilities related issues.
To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
Educated to A Level/NVQ Level 3.
A thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation and its application to the workplace.
A good working knowledge of the Highway Code.
Thorough knowledge of Road Traffic Law relating to speeding offences and associated road safety issues/casualty reduction and the criminal justice system.
Significant supervisory experience of managing and supporting a team working in a related environment which involves challenging issues, working under pressure, high workloads and tight deadlines.
Previous experience of buildings/facilities management would be desirable.
Able to set out logical arguments clearly, and communicate effectively adapting language, form and message to meet the needs of different people / audiences.
Skilled in using specialised software related to own area of work to extract, analyse and report on data.
Able to supervise a team and take personal accountability for creating strong engagement of individuals with their personal and team objectives and with Force values, behaviours and strategic priorities.
Able to manage the introduction of new business processes or ways of working at team level.
Able to gather and handle information and identify cause and effect, developing a course of action designed to target root causes and mitigate risk.
Able to review and assess individual and team performance against expected standards, providing objective and effective feedback and ensuring corrective actions are taken where necessary.
Able to plan ahead; to allocate work appropriately within the team and to identify and mitigate risks to delivery.
Able to identify key stakeholders, understand potential roles and to take appropriate steps to understand their needs and concern.
Good oral and written communication skills including the ability to research and collate information.
Significant ICT skills relating to the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook) and databases, preferably within speed enforcement or the criminal justice field (EROS Core, Pentip, HADECs).
Commitment to maintaining up to date knowledge of legislative process changes that effect the justice system and processing of speeding offences.
Ability to work under minimum supervision.
Ability to manage time effectively and to prioritise workloads.
Regular travel across Warwickshire.
