We're looking for a proactive Supervisor - Street Cleansing to lead and support our operational teams, ensuring our streets are clean, safe and well maintained for everyone in the community. In this role, you'll organise and monitor the effective use of staff, vehicles and equipment to deliver an efficient, safe and cost-effective street cleansing service. You'll also respond to service requests and customer enquiries, investigating issues and ensuring they are resolved to a high standard. As a Supervisor - Street Cleansing, you'll lead by example, organising workloads and supporting your team to deliver a high-quality, reliable service across the borough. You'll be confident prioritising competing demands, making informed decisions, and using your initiative to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and on time. We're looking for someone with strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills, who can produce clear reports, interpret performance data and build positive relationships with colleagues, contractors and members of the public. You'll have a good understanding of key environmental, health and safety and transport legislation, alongside practical knowledge of street cleansing operations and cleaning practices. With supervisory experience or a relevant management qualification, you'll be a proactive leader who promotes equality, takes pride in delivering excellent services and is committed to maintaining high standards. A full driving licence is essential, as you'll travel between sites, monitor operations and be available to respond to occasional emergency call-outs outside normal working hours., Applicants for this public-facing post will need to demonstrate the ability to converse, and provide effective help or advice, fluently in spoken English.
