Job summary

Brighton & Hove City Council is seeking a Street Cleansing Driver Supervisor to lead frontline teams at Hollingdean Depot in Brighton. The role focuses on safe, efficient street cleansing operations with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement.

You will oversee daily supervision, coordinate tasks, and drive service improvements while maintaining high standards of health and safety and customer service. Training will be provided and the role includes a fixed hours package with a 37-hour week.

Qualifications

  • Work closely with managers to identify service improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Build strong working relationships with residents, customers, and community groups.
  • Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Support the planning and delivery of city events and other operational activities.
  • Assist with staff training, coaching, and development initiatives.

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Management Team, you will be responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of street cleansing operations. You will lead by example, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with service requirements.

The role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, residents, community groups, and stakeholders. While working as part of a wider management team, you will also need confidence to make decisions independently and take ownership of operational challenges.

Working Hours

Working Pattern: 13:39 to 22:00 on a rolling rota basis.
