Job summary

Luton Borough Council is seeking an experienced Supervisor – Street Cleansing to lead operational teams and ensure streets are clean, safe and well maintained for the community.

You will organise workloads, monitor staff, vehicles and equipment to deliver an efficient, safe and cost-effective service. A full driving licence is essential, with travel between sites and occasional emergencies.

What we’re looking for

As a Supervisor – Street Cleansing, you'llleadby example, organising workloads andsupportingyour team to deliver a high-quality, reliable service across the borough.You'll beconfidentprioritising competing demands, making informed decisions, and using your initiative to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and on time.

We're looking for someone with strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills, who can produce clear reports, interpret performance data and build positive relationships with colleagues, contractors and members of the public.You'll have a goodunderstandingof key environmental, health and safety and transport legislation, alongside practical knowledge of street cleansing operations and cleaning practices.

With supervisory experience or a relevant management qualification, you'll be a proactiveleaderwho promotes equality, takes pride in delivering excellent services and iscommittedto maintaining high standards.A full driving licence is essential, as you'll travel between sites, monitor operations and be available torespondto occasional emergency call-outs outside normal working hours.
