About NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

Shift Patterns
  • Post 1: Saturday & Sunday Nightshift, 16 hours per week, 23:00-08:00, 60
  • Post 2: Thursday & Friday, 15:30-23:00, 30 hours, 16 hours fortnightly

Note: Salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.

Job Responsibilities

The post involves coordinating an efficient Health Records Service for patients, GPs, and hospital staff, ensuring workload prioritization daily. Responsibilities include supervising Health Records staff, managing workloads, approving leave, organizing cover, maintaining workflow, and meeting targets and deadlines. The role may involve handling difficult situations with patients or relatives, with escalation to senior staff when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Institute of Health Records and Information Management Supervisory Accreditation, Certificate of Health Records and Information Management, or significant relevant experience.
  • Effective communication, computer literacy, internet skills, and initiative.
  • Extensive experience with the Patient Management System (PMS) is desirable.
Additional Information

This is a GGC-wide position, initially based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, with potential relocation to other sites.
