Barnardo's National Counter Trafficking Centre runs services across England and Wales. This includes the Independent Child Trafficking Guardianship Service, a statutory provision set out in Section 48 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

We are recruiting to the role of Supervisor to work within our service. The role will be home-based and has the potential for extensive travel across our delivery sites; due to the nature of the work, you must be able to identify a confidential space for your daily work. If interested, you must have a current driving licence and access to a car or be able to manage extensive travel via public transport.

Our Supervisors are responsible for:

  • Line management for up to 8 Independent Child Trafficking Guardians or Support Workers, focusing on continuous development, supervision, and managing sickness and performance.
  • Oversight and monitoring of national and regional allocations and practitioner caseloads.
  • Oversight and monitoring of the assessment and triage of referrals.
  • Supporting staff to meet ICTG Service recording requirements.
  • Supporting staff in safeguarding actions, initial assessments, and action plans.
  • Supporting children’s transitions within the ICTG Service, integrating them into regional support systems.
  • Ensuring children’s voices are heard in planning and decision-making.
  • Managing a caseload of up to 15 young people at times of need.
  • Contributing to national awareness-raising sessions.
  • Supporting work across National Sites or within the Guardianship Assessment Team.
  • Contributing to the out-of-hours on-call rota.
