Job summary

VolkerHighways in Wokingham is seeking a experienced Supervisor to lead the day-to-day delivery of reactive and planned highway maintenance. You will coordinate in-house and subcontract teams to ensure projects meet safety, quality, and budget requirements.

Ideal candidates will have construction management knowledge and familiarity with NEC contracts, along with CSCS, SSSTS, NRSWA supervisor certification, and First Aid training.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of construction management.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts and forms.
• CSCS and SSSTS preferred for site supervision.
• NRSWA Supervisor qualification and First Aid training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day delivery of reactive and planned highway maintenance works.
• Lead and support operational teams, providing guidance, coaching and performance management.
• Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, to specification and within budget.
• Implement and monitor safe systems of work, conducting regular site inspections and safety briefings.
• Plan workloads, allocate resources and coordinate labour, materials, plant and traffic management requirements.
• Monitor quality standards, productivity and programme performance across all assigned works.
• Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, inspections, work updates and contract documentation.
• Manage stock levels, depot operations and the safe use of company vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
• Support the wider management team and undertake additional duties as required.

About The Role

We have an excellent opportunity for a Supervisor on our Highways Term Maintenance contract working out of our Wokingham depot. The role will require the individual to lead and coordinate both in-house and subcontract teams, to ensure projects meet operational, financial, and contract requirements.

You will need to ensure all work aligns with contract requirements and is carried out in full compliance with legal and safety standards. Other requirements include:
