Job summary

Veolia is recruiting for a site-based role at the Oxford location. You will lead and supervise waste, facilities and cleaning teams, coordinate daily waste activities and ensure safety, quality and cost controls are maintained across the site.

The role requires supervisory experience, a forklift licence, and strong leadership and communication skills. Competitive salary with Veolia benefits accompanies a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English with two A-Levels.
• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence is required.
• Experience supervising waste, facilities or cleaning teams.
• Experience with waste processing, recycling, baling and related procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise waste, facilities and cleaning teams; allocate tasks and manage rotas.
• Coordinate daily waste collection, segregation, processing and storage across the site.
• Oversee cleaning operations, routine and deep cleans; ensure quality standards and KPIs.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance; conduct inspections and audits.
• Manage resources, equipment, consumables and costs; identify improvements and savings.
• Liaise with clients, departments, contractors and suppliers; monitor KPIs and report outcomes.

Job description

Salary: up to £40,000 per annum plus Veolia benefits. Hours: 40 hours per week, Mon - Fri 8am to 4pm. Location: Siemens HC Ltd - MR Magnet Technology, 1 Wharf Road, Eynsham, Oxford, OX29 4BP.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead and supervise waste, facilities and cleaning teams, including allocating tasks, managing rotas, conducting meetings, supporting development and maintaining effective communication.
• Coordinate daily waste collection, segregation, processing and storage across the site, including operating baling equipment and supporting waste vehicle loading and unloading.
• Oversee cleaning operations, including routine and deep cleans, unplanned activities and ad hoc tasks, ensuring quality standards and KPIs are achieved.
• Manage health, safety and environmental compliance by conducting inspections and audits, maintaining records, reporting incidents and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage resources, equipment, consumables and operational costs, ensuring efficient use of personnel and supplies while identifying process improvements and cost savings.
• Manage stakeholders and contract performance by liaising with clients, departments, contractors and suppliers; monitoring KPIs, completing audits, maintaining compliance records and preparing reports.

What we're looking for:

• GCSEs in at least four subjects, including Maths and English, or equivalent, plus two A-Levels.
• A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence; additional Facilities Management or related training is desirable.
• Proven experience in facilities and waste management, ideally in a supervisory or team leadership role.
• Experience carrying out waste and cleaning duties in production areas, maintaining facility standards and following cleaning plans and operating procedures.
• Knowledge and practical experience of waste processing and recycling, including segregation, baling and compacting; manufacturing experience is desirable.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisation, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with knowledge of facilities systems, maintenance, safety regulations and relevant computerised management and reporting systems.
