Job summary

Veolia is seeking an Electro Mechanical Technician to join our team at Four Ashes, Staffordshire. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems within an Energy Recovery Facility.

You will require an engineering apprenticeship with NVQ 3 or equivalent, plus 3+ years in a continuous process industry, with PLC/DCS and CMMS experience. A rota including occasional weekend work may be involved.

Qualifications

• Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering discipline.
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) required.
• 3+ years in a continuous process industry are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a day-based Mon-Fri schedule.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems in the Energy Recovery Facility.
• Inspect, repair and maintain LV electrical plant, drives, pumps, fans, conveyors, motors and valves.
• Maintain accurate files, logs and drawings using CMMS.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure safe, compliant electro-mechanical work.
• Propose and develop modifications, ensure compliance with ISO EN9001, EN14001 and EN18001.

What you'll be doing;

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in a days based Mon-Fri Role
• Carrying out fault diagnosis and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems across the Energy Recovery Facility
• Inspecting, repairing and maintaining LV electrical plant, control gear, variable speed drives, pumps, fans, conveyors, Motors & gearbox drives, Overhead hoist cranes and valves.
• Maintaining accurate files, logs and drawings for all electro-mechanical equipment using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Liaising with and overseeing suppliers and contractors carrying out electro-mechanical tasks, ensuring compliance with company procedures and safe working systems
• Proposing and developing modifications and improvements to plant and apparatus, whilst ensuring compliance with ISO EN9001, EN14001 and EN18001 standards

What we're looking for;

• A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship with a minimum of NVQ 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
• Minimum 3 years experience in a continuous process industry with knowledge of electro & mechanical maintenance techniques.
• A heavy industry background is advantageous but not essential.
• A good understanding of PLC/DCS architecture and associated control systems
• Familiarity with P&IDs, wiring diagrams, panel drawings , pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams
• An understanding of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and relevant environmental legislation
• Ability to work a rota including one weekend in four working to provide maintenance cover 365 days per year
• A strong communicator who is self motivated, adaptable and able to work with minimum supervision
