Job summary

Caritas Recruitment is seeking a Supervising Social Worker to join Devon County Council’s North & Mid Fostering Team. You will supervise foster carers, provide professional guidance, and work across North & Mid Devon to ensure safe, stable placements for children.

The role requires SWE registration, Right to Work in the UK, and substantial post-qualifying experience in Children's Social Care, preferably in fostering. Hybrid/home-working possibilities may be discussed at interview.

Qualifications

• Must be SWE registered and have Right to Work in the UK.
• Significant post-qualifying experience in Children's Social Care required.
• Experience in fostering services or transferable skills from related settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, support and professional advice to foster carers.
• Conduct foster carer visits and statutory supervision.
• Complete unannounced visits and annual foster carer reviews.
• Undertake quality assurance activities.
• Support recruitment, assessment and ongoing development of foster carers.
• Assist with delivering training for prospective and existing foster carers.
• Ensure compliance with National Minimum Standards for Fostering and Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.
• Promote permanence options and understanding of legal frameworks for children.
