Job description

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Supervising Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work Full Time for Caretech, Thames Valley.

The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is up to £43,700 per annum.

Responsibilities:
  1. Monthly Supervising Social Worker visits to the Foster Carer, ensuring that supervision is recorded, and reports are completed within 5 working days with copies sent to the child's social worker and Foster Carer as applicable.
  2. Weekly telephone support to Foster Carers, with recording completed within 24 hours and noting all matters on files.
  3. Support the Out of Hours service by partaking in the rota for covering this service.
  4. Partake in the duty-day rota at the office to ensure that carers and external professionals receive a good quality service.
  5. Cover referrals and ensure that placements are made in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Work with colleagues on the appropriate placement and/or movement of children with Family Carers.
  7. Work with colleagues on the placement arrangements for young people moving on, as agreed with the Local Authority social worker or in line with the care plan.
  8. Attend the organisation's fostering panel, ensuring that all assessments and reviews have been appropriately completed.
  9. Deliver training and facilitate monthly Support Group Meetings to and with Foster Carers.
  10. Prepare and support carers and children when attending court.
  11. Attend and record court case conferences, planning meetings and reviews as professional representative of the agency.
  12. Full compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
  13. Ensure management is proactively updated on all matters relating to practice, compliance and outcomes.
  14. Participate in regular supervision sessions and annual appraisals.
  15. Ensure an efficient, effective and proactive approach to service provision.
  16. Update the database to reflect all current practice matters on the foster carers and young persons.
Requirements:
  1. A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
  3. Registered or eligible for registration.
  4. Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
