About the role

As a Team Leader within one of our Waitrose shops, you'll help our difference be felt by our customers on every visit, providing partner-led service and a passion for food that our competitors can't match—passionate partners serving food lovers.

Your drive to go the extra mile to help both customers and partners will positively impact the impression of the Waitrose brand, encouraging customer loyalty and trust, while also helping to maximize sales and profit.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the shop's management team with managerial tasks and collaborating across all shop areas to meet customer demand.

Ensuring partners operate safely and legally.

Fulfilling online customer orders for delivery.

Replenishing stock to keep shelves full and products correctly positioned.

Supporting the wider shop team with tasks such as checkout support, managing click & collect orders, and fulfilling on-demand customer orders.

Proactively driving shop performance and suggesting continuous improvement ideas.

Reducing wastage through product diligence and markdowns for items nearing their sell-by date.

Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping duties.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Good people and leadership skills.
• Understanding of retail and commercial success strategies.
• Experience in a customer-facing role.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with third parties and the wider partnership.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Duty Manager Training (for internal partners).
