Summer Student Placement – Medical Records
Band £24,647 to £26,763 per annum
Plus £1,349 Distant Islands Allowance per annum
Fixed Term Contract
The Patient Services Department provides a comprehensive medical record service to NHS Western Isles for both inpatients and outpatients. Medical Records is responsible for the provision of key services supporting patient care and management.
We require a summer student to assist with administrative functions. This will include:
• General administrative duties - scanning, filing, photocopying and telephone enquiries.
• Maintaining the Medical Records file store. Ensuring filing bays are in good order to enable effective and efficient location and retrieval of records.
• Appointment booking and recording clinic outcomes.
This placement would be suitable for those that are studying administration, business, management or a health related subject. You should have excellent communication skills and be confident in taking general enquiries. You will be required to have an eye for detail to ensure files are stored accurately. It is essential that you can maintain confidentiality as you will be dealing with sensitive, personal information.
