Job summary

MBDA offers a Mechanical and Climatic Engineer Summer Placement for 2027 in Stevenage, within Environmental Engineering & Facilities. You will engage in hands-on projects across MBDA products, gaining experience in instrumentation, data processing, and test activities.

The 10-week placement starts June 2027 with a pro-rata salary of £24,460, and requires 3–4 on-site days per week. Security clearance (BPSS) is required and applications close 4 January 2027.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate working towards a degree in an engineering or physics discipline.
• Strong academic record and interest in defence or aerospace engineering.
• Ability to work on-site in Stevenage and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical and environmental test projects within EE&F.
• Support data gathering trials and test instrumentation setup.
• Contribute to analysis of results from flight/firing trials or lab tests.
• Prepare and conduct off-site data gathering activities where needed.

Undergraduate engineering degree (Aeronautical & Aerospace Engineering; Electrical & Electronic Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Production & Manufacturing Engineering; Maths or Physics)
