Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Summer Intern for Commercial Haematology to work on real projects and learn from leaders in a global biotech environment. You will gain insight into launching a Cell and Gene Therapy in the International region and develop business and scientific skills.

During the 8-week internship, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, attend mentorship events, and participate in network activities designed to accelerate your early career in pharma.

• Currently/recently enrolled in a life science or business‑related university qualification.
• Interest in the pharmaceutical industry.

What you will be doing:

The International Heme Business Unit leads the commercial launch strategies and activities for the first hemoglobinopathy gene editing product Vertex has launched across the International region. The candidate would gain knowledge of the process of commercialising a Cell and Gene Therapy.

During your Summer Internship you will get the opportunity to learn about our industry from a hands‑on perspective. You will be working closely with and learning from some of the brightest people in the industry. Interns can expect to be challenged by their work, connect with other students, and feel valued by the Vertex community.

What you will need to succeed:

• - Currently/recently enrolled in a life science or business‑related university qualification (e.g. Data Science, Marketing, Business Management)


• - Interest in the pharmaceutical industry


• - Must be independently motivated and a strong team player


• - Demonstrates problem solving skills


• - Good written, communication, project management and presentation skills


• - Evidence of ability to meet deadlines


• - You must be available to work full‑time, 40 hours per week from 1st June to 7th August 2026
