Job summary

Arup is offering a 6–12-week Summer Internship in Civil Engineering – Site Development in Manchester. You will work with engineers on real projects, gain hands-on experience, attend learning sessions, site visits, and network with leaders.

We seek second/third-year Civil Engineering students with strong maths/science, familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation, and a collaborative mindset. Training and support from the Early Careers team will help develop your skills.

Qualifications

• Strong maths and science background
• Second/third year Civil Engineering student
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation preferred

Responsibilities

• Carry out assessment, analysis, design, and prepare reports, drawings and calculations.
• Develop infrastructure designs for urban environments, large-scale projects, utilities and drainage.
• Collaborate with Arup colleagues across disciplines to create integrated, sustainable designs.
• Meet with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders; participate in site visits.
• Utilise software tools such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicroStation, InfoDrainage, GIS, and ProjectWise to support design.
