Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Subsurface Utility Quality Assurance Coordinator in the UK to ensure QA across Buried Services, EC and Utility Survey teams. You will maintain data integrity, reporting quality and adherence to industry procedures, both onsite and in offices. Some travel to live projects may be required.

The role focuses on QA audits, process standardisation, and cross-team coordination to deliver consistent, high-quality outputs for clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality assurance, ideally within utilities, surveying, or engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of buried services, utility surveys, or geospatial data (desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret technical data, drawings, and reports.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software/tools used in utility mapping and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit deliverables from Buried Services, EC and Utility Survey teams for accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure outputs comply with industry standards, procedures, and client specs.
• Identify trends and errors; implement corrective actions.
• Develop, maintain QA processes and documentation standards across teams.
• Promote consistency in data capture, processing and reporting methodologies.
• Support creation and updating of templates, checklists and QA workflows.
• Act as central QA contact between teams; facilitate alignment of deliverables.
• Maintain a regular schedule of site audits.
