Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a General Operative to support stores, yard and site operations at Bramford Substation near Ipswich. You will assist with receipt and issue of materials, loading/unloading, stock control and tools calibration while working closely with project teams.

This hands‑on role requires a full clean driving licence, teamwork and the ability to perform under pressure. Prior construction or power industry exposure is desirable and on‑site duties will apply at Bramford

Qualifications

• Full driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Support stores, yard and site operations on Bramford project.
• Assist with receipt and issue of materials, tools and plant.
• Support loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
• Check deliveries for quality, quantities and potential damage.
• Help coordinate plant and stock and maintain stock records.
• Ensure materials for site teams are accessible and organized.
• Assist with hiring, acceptance and off‑hiring of plant and equipment.
• Assist with management and calibration of tools and equipment.
• Keep yard and stores area clean, tidy and secure.
• Work closely with operators, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
• Follow health, safety and site procedures.
