Job summary

OCU Group is seeking an experienced Framework Design Manager to lead the design journey across our Delivery Framework, from feasibility to procurement and delivery. Based in Ruislip, Swindon or Oxford, you will bring strong electrical engineering expertise and a strategic, collaborative leadership style.

You will oversee design development, manage teams and budgets, and ensure designs meet client requirements and SSEN Design Standards, while coordinating with ED2 and key stakeholders across the

Qualifications

• Significant experience in 11–132kV substation design engineering with an electrical bias.
• Direct experience with SSEN on DNO substation and related design works.
• Experience in UK electricity distribution sector and working with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong project management, leadership and strategic planning capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design development process with project managers, designers and clients.
• Lead feasibility studies, site assessments and early design activities.
• Manage procurement strategies and professionals, ensuring design quality and cost control.
• Maintain design control, change management and regulatory compliance.
• Lead HAZID/HAZOP studies and liaise with clients and ED2 delivery teams.
