Job summary

OCU Group in Stockport invites a Design Project Manager to lead design delivery across complex infrastructure projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams from concept through to construction. This role requires strong technical awareness, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive high-quality design output.

The position is primarily home-based with regular visits to project sites, travel to locations, and a full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience in design engineering, design management, or multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
Proven ability to manage design in complex project environments with multiple stakeholders and interfaces.
Good understanding of CDM 2015 roles, duties, and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of design across assigned projects.
Manage design programmes, deliverables, interfaces, and key milestones.
Work closely with clients, consultants, supply chain partners, and internal teams.
Support safe, buildable, and compliant design solutions in line with project and business requirements.
Monitor progress, manage change, and provide clear reporting to project leadership.
