Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Head of Commissioning for England & Wales to lead the commissioning strategy and governance across major power transmission and distribution substations. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with delivery partners and network operators, and ensure safe energisation from construction completion to handover.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in electrical engineering, power systems or related discipline.
• Experience leading commissioning across major projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Thorough understanding of UK legislation, CDM and electrical safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning strategy across England & Wales substations and ensure safe energisation.
• Oversee internal teams and specialist subcontractors and partners.
• Collaborate with operations, projects, engineering, procurement and workforce planning to deliver compliant, predictable delivery.
• Ensure client acceptance and handover readiness for projects.
