Job summary

Change Grow Live is seeking a Substance Misuse Nurse to support people with multifaceted issues related to substance use, within multidisciplinary teams. You will provide specialist clinical interventions and ensure a whole-person approach to care, while valuing listening skills, flexibility, and clinical robustness.

The role includes delivering health promotion, BBV screening, detoxification support and education, with opportunities for professional development and safeguarding responsibilities.

Qualifications

• First level registered nurse with a current PIN.
• Experience delivering harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
• Ability to assess and co-produce recovery plans with individuals using our services and write reports.
• Willingness to travel between services.

Responsibilities

• Undertake physical and mental health assessments for people who access our services.
• Signpost/referral to primary or secondary health care services as identified.
• Undertake alcohol assessments to determine safe detoxification.
• Undertake community alcohol detoxification at service or service users' home.
• Assist in titration for opioid users and support detoxification in the community.
• Provide education, health promotion and BBV screening, including Hepatitis A/B vaccinations.
