Job summary

Middlesbrough Borough Council – Substance Use Service is seeking a Caseworker to support clients from entry through treatment and recovery. You will conduct screenings and assessments, develop recovery plans, facilitate referrals, and carry out care reviews, using a trauma-informed, strength-based approach to minimise harm.

The role requires working with vulnerable clients who may have complex needs, in a temporary post running from September 2026 to March 2027, with weekly pay and a supportive

• Enhanced DBS check against adults and children is essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screenings and assessments to identify client needs.
• Develop and implement recovery plans.
• Facilitate onward referrals to appropriate services.
• Conduct care reviews to support progress towards goals.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team to enable access to support.
