Job summary

MPJ Recruitment Ltd in Nottingham is seeking an experienced Subsidence Claims Handler to join the head office. You will manage a portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims, from instruction through to settlement, working with surveyors, insurers and policyholders to deliver fair outcomes.

You will review technical reports and evidence, interpret policy wordings, and liaise with stakeholders to ensure accurate records and regulatory compliance while delivering excellent customer

Qualifications

• Experience handling subsidence claims.
• Strong understanding of property insurance and the claims lifecycle.
• Experience interpreting policy wordings and applying coverage decisions.
• Ability to review technical reports and supporting evidence.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload.
• Experience working within an FCA regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of domestic and commercial subsidence claims from instruction through to settlement.
• Review policy coverage, liability, causation and claim quantum.
• Analyse engineer and surveyor reports, schedules of works, photographs and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with policyholders, insurers, brokers, contractors and external stakeholders throughout the claims process.
• Negotiate fair claim outcomes in line with policy terms and delegated authority levels.
• Maintain accurate claim records and ensure regulatory compliance at all times.
• Deliver excellent customer service through proactive communication and effective expectation management.
• Identify claims requiring escalation and work closely with technical specialists where necessary.

MPJ Recruitment are proud to be working with a growing and highly respected insurance claims organisation to recruit an experienced Subsidence Claims Handler to join their Nottingham head office.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in subsidence claims who enjoys managing claims from first notification through to settlement whilst working closely with policyholders, insurers, surveyors and contractors.

The Role

As a Subsidence Claims Handler, you’ll manage a portfolio of domestic and commercial property subsidence claims, taking ownership of the claim journey from instruction through to conclusion.

Working alongside surveyors and technical experts, you’ll investigate claims, assess policy coverage, review reports and supporting evidence, and ensure claims are progressed efficiently whilst delivering a positive experience for customers.

About You

• Previous experience handling subsidence claims.
• A strong understanding of property insurance and the claims lifecycle.
• Experience interpreting policy wordings and applying coverage decisions.
• The ability to review technical reports and supporting evidence.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
• Experience working within an FCA regulated environment.

Insurance qualifications such as Cert CII, Cert CILA or equivalent would be advantageous but are not essential.
