Job summary

Subsea Pressure Controls Ltd in Aberdeen is seeking an experienced engineer to step into Engineering Manager, a role combining hands-on design with team leadership. You will oversee projects from client briefing to deployment of subsea equipment offshore, guiding concept development through to manufacture and certification.

The role requires strong mechanical design skills, experience with CAD (Autodesk Inventor), and the ability to manage scope, schedule and budgets while maintaining technical

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical design and engineering capability.
• Experience delivering engineering projects from concept through manufacture, testing and deployment.
• Experience with 3D mechanical CAD; proficiency in Autodesk Inventor is desirable.
• Experience undertaking or reviewing FEA.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, equipment specifications and client technical requirements.
• Knowledge of API 17D and related API standards.
• Understanding of equipment inspection, testing and certification requirements.
• Strong practical problem-solving and project-management skills.
• Ability to communicate confidently with clients, suppliers and workshop personnel.
• Experience leading or supervising an engineering/workshop team.

Responsibilities

• Review client enquiries and decommissioning scopes to determine technical and equipment requirements.
• Lead the design and development of subsea equipment, wellhead retrieval tooling, wellhead connectors and bespoke client solutions.
• Produce and review 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, calculations and design documentation.
• Undertake and review Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and design verification.
• Manage projects through procurement, manufacture, assembly, inspection, testing and mobilisation.
• Support project costing, scheduling, procurement requirements and technical quotations.
• Oversee the technical integrity, inspection, maintenance and certification of SPC's subsea equipment fleet.
• Coordinate FAT/SIT, function testing, pressure and load testing, NDT and third-party verification where required.
• Provide technical support to workshop personnel and manage engineering/workshop priorities and resources.
• Lead and support the development of engineering and workshop personnel.
• Liaise directly with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and third-party inspection bodies.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable client requirements and relevant API, DNV and ISO standards.
