Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Aberdeen is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop subsea cutting tooling, taking concepts through to manufacture and deployment.

You will create 3D models in CAD, run design calculations, support prototyping and testing, and work with offshore teams to meet client specs. The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and subsea/oil & gas experience; SolidWorks is desirable. Strong problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in mechanical design, ideally subsea/offshore/oil & gas.
• Solid technical foundation in design, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop subsea cutting tools and mechanical systems.
• Produce detailed CAD drawings and models (SolidWorks desirable).
• Conduct design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, project, and offshore teams to meet specs.
