Job summary

Babcock International Group in Bristol invites applications for a Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Summer Internship. Over 12 weeks you’ll work in the SSE Mechanical Team, supporting in-service submarines and MoD engineering.

You’ll conduct feasibility studies, CAD modelling, and analysis, and run your own project while learning submarine systems and engineering processes. This placement is tailored to your interests and will develop practical skills for your future career.

Qualifications

• Undergrad Mechanical Engineering student required.
• Security clearance eligibility: BPSS and SC where applicable.
• UK national status may be required for some programmes.

Responsibilities

• Support SSE Mechanical Team on submarine-related projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and analyses (thermal, stress, flow).
• Develop CAD models and engineering tools for project work.
• Assist in maintenance optimisation and future submarine support activities.
