Job summary

Matchtech is recruiting experienced Fabricators for a major UK submarine refit programme. You will fabricate and install structural steelwork, read drawings, and work with welders and NDT staff across rotating shifts on naval platforms.

Candidates should have submarine/warship refit experience, be comfortable with high-grade steels, and capable of working in secure defence environments with confined-space restrictions.

Qualifications

• Experience in submarine/warship refit, maintenance or repair programmes.
• Experience with high-grade naval steels and pressure-bearing structures.
• Ability to work in secure defence environments and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble and install structural steelwork per drawings and specs.
• Mark out, cut, burn, form and straighten plates using oxy-fuel, plasma and grinders.
• Carry out repairs, renewals and modifications to submarine hulls and internal structures.
• Work to tight tolerances in confined spaces and submarine compartments.
• Collaborate with welders, fitters and NDT personnel to meet targets.
• Ensure compliance with MOD, dockyard and site safety procedures.
