Job summary

Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby is seeking an Electronic Engineer to join the In Service Electrical Department. You will review high level electrical requirements, translate them into validated designs, and implement electrical solutions that meet constraints and standards.

The role involves modelling, simulation, and analysis of electrical designs, with emphasis on safety and reliability. A strong emphasis on capacity planning, policy development, and training material delivery is expected.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of domain plant and platform interfaces, component technology and behaviour during normal and abnormal operation.
  • Ability to research application issues and products broadly, including suppliers, universities and customers.
  • Ability to train people and deliver training material where required.

Responsibilities

  • Review and agree high level electrical requirements and their testability.
  • Translate high level requirements into validated electrical designs.
  • Design and implement electrical designs to meet requirements and constraints.
  • Analyse designs for functional behaviour using modelling and simulation.
  • Support capacity planning and long-term strategic goals for the department.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, tools and training.
