Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Bristol (hybrid) invites a Chief Development Engineer to lead the product development and validation programme for naval electrical switchboard products, across surface and sub-surface platforms. You will provide programme and technical leadership to the work package team, define the development plan, and drive robust design and verification processes, with occasional travel to Winsford.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering and/or Science/Technology (or significant, relevant experience).
Experience delivering in multiple, complex engineering roles.
Experience working in customer- and supply-chain-facing environments.
Knowledge/experience in development/verification lifecycle and processes in a regulated industry.
Willingness to travel to support/lead activity from Winsford and in the supply chain as required.

Responsibilities

Provide programme and technical leadership to the Work Package team and comply with Engineering policies throughout the life cycle of the work package.
Define and own the Product Development Programme to achieve milestones delivering demonstrators/prototypes for verification of enabling technology and manufacturability.
Introduce and validate tools and methods to ensure robust design and production at pace.
Manage the verification programmes to ensure all requirements are met.
Ensure capability and infrastructure are in place to deliver planned validation of technology, components and assemblies (e.g., rigs, outsource test capability, prototype fabrication resources).
