Role responsibilities

As a Senior Operations Consultant specializing in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Risk Assessment & Management, you will lead workstreams within broader Process Safety Management (PSM) and Operational Risk Management (ORM) programs. Your focus will be on establishing and enhancing Risk Assessment and PHA programs, building client organizational capabilities, and ensuring sustainable performance.

You will:

1. Drive consulting engagements in PHA and Risk Assessment to meet client expectations and deliver value.
2. Structure and plan project activities, coordinating with related workstreams like Management of Change and Mechanical Integrity.
3. Provide expertise on PHA techniques such as HAZOP, What-If, Layer of Protection Analysis, SIL, QRA, and others.
4. Lead client teams through project phases, including gap analysis, methodology review, and capacity building via training and coaching.
5. Communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders effectively.
6. Identify and mitigate project risks, proposing solutions to ensure success.
7. Contribute to proposals and support client meetings and presentations.
8. Participate in developing best practices, sharing insights, and mentoring junior colleagues.

Candidate profile

• Extensive practical experience with PHA techniques and process safety systems.
• Knowledge of quantitative risk assessment techniques is advantageous.
• Understanding of PSM system elements and their integration.
• Proven leadership and communication skills to influence and guide teams.
• Experience in hazardous industries like Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, or Chemicals.
• Background in technical roles such as Process Control or Engineering is valued.

Qualifications

• BSc/BA in Engineering or related field; MSc or MBA preferred.
• Fluency in English and either French or Dutch.
• Willingness to travel up to 80%.

The role is remote, based in Spain, UK, France, Germany, Portugal, Italy, or Belgium.
