Job summary
West Dean College is seeking an experienced Subject Leader for Books & Bindings. The role centers on academic and operational leadership for our Books programmes, with responsibilities in teaching, assessment, curriculum and programme development.
You will collaborate with the Head of School, coordinate visiting lecturers, manage study visits and external engagement, while maintaining Health & Safety and quality assurance standards. Pro rata salary indicates part-time commitment.
Qualifications
- BA or equivalent Level 6 qualification and professional practice in Books & Bindings.
- Experience of teaching, assessment and administration in Further or Higher Education.
- Strong understanding of practical and creative bookbinding, including history and theory.
Responsibilities
- Teach, assess and contribute to curriculum development within Books & Bindings.
- Support curriculum planning, programme development and student learning experiences.
- Coordinate visiting lecturers and external contributors.
- Participate in recruitment activities, quality assurance and external engagement.
- Ensure Health & Safety, resources planning and arrange relevant study visits.
