Job summary

United Infrastructure T&D Limited is seeking a Subcontracts Engineer to oversee subcontracting activities in a hybrid role based from Glasgow. You will manage supplier registers, performance reviews, and governance within project budgets.

You will engage with contractors and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with project plans and legal requirements. Experience in power/construction sectors and strong negotiation skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, QS, Law or related with CIPS preferred.
• Experience with contracting/subcontracting in power/construction industries.
• Ability to interact with contractors/subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Local knowledge of the area and suppliers; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate per project supply chain procedures and plan.
• Use ASR and project-approved supplier registers for evaluation and selection.
• Perform subcontractor performance reviews and implement corrective actions.
• Attend site visits and meetings; report subcontract progress weekly.
• Maintain subcontract trackers and ensure auditable compliance.
• Promote safe working practices and safety leadership.

Further benefits include a contributory pension scheme, private medical cover, 4x base salary life insurance; all of these and more that can be adapted to suit your own lifestyle* **Commitment to continued professional development;** development plans that are tailored to your individual needs and interests* **Global connections:** join experts around the world who are at the leading edge of our industry, shaping the standards of our profession**Key Responsibilities:*** Operate in accordance with appropriate Corporate and Project Specific Supply Chain Procedures* Ensure all subcontract activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan / schedule and / or contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures* Utilise the Approved Supplier Register (ASR) and supplement (as required) with project/client approved supplier registers for supplier evaluation, audit, and selection as well as carrying out supplier performance reviews* Undertake subcontractor performance reviews and ongoing management ensuring corrective actions are taken where required* Ensure that all statutory and legal requirements and procedures are complied with, and all actions are fully auditable* Hold weekly meetings with key project team members to establish subcontract requirements. Record and keep subcontract trackers up to date* Attend project site visits and meetings in person as may be required* Promote safe working practices and always demonstrate safety leadership* Participate, deliver and complete all corporate and departmental requirements as instructed from time to time* Awareness of commercial positions imposed by Head Contracts**Skills And Qualifications**At United Infrastructure T&D Limited, we are committed to equal opportunities and welcome all talented individuals to consider joining our team.
