Job summary

Howells Recruitment is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to build and manage a network of subcontractors for reactive maintenance, planned works, and other streams. Location: Luton. Salary: GBP45K-GBP60K plus benefits.

You will source subcontractors by trade and location, oversee onboarding and approvals, and maintain compliance records, including insurance and qualifications. Close collaboration with Operations, HSEQ, Commercial and Finance will be essential.

Qualifications

• Experience sourcing and onboarding subcontractors in construction or property maintenance.
• Proven ability to maintain compliance records and supplier registers.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with internal teams.
• Ability to manage insurance, qualifications, and expiry dates.
• Attention to detail and robust document control.
• Experience with supplier management systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Source and recruit subcontractors by trade, location and capacity
• Manage onboarding and approval process
• Maintain approved subcontractor register
• Monitor insurance, qualifications, accreditations and other compliance documentation
• Track expiry dates and manage renewals
• Work with Operations, HSEQ, Commercial and Finance to secure approvals
• Monitor subcontractor quality, reliability, safety and performance
• Maintain supplier scorecards and support performance reviews
• Identify supply chain gaps and build capacity
• Support new contract mobilisations and client audits
• Improve onboarding and compliance processes to reduce delays
