Job summary

Galliford Try in West Sussex is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to take responsibility for a section of works, delivering safely, on programme and to high quality standards.

You will coordinate site teams, subcontractors, plant and materials working closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery.

The role requires Civil Engineering qualifications, CSCS/SMSTS, and a strong grasp of CDM and NEC contracts, with a focus on leadership and delivering value.

Qualifications

• HNC or above in Civil Engineering.
• SMSTS and CSCS certified.
• Strong CDM Regulations and NEC contract knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of allocated works packages.
• Supervise site teams and subcontractors, ensuring safe working practices.
• Plan, monitor, and coordinate project activities to meet programme requirements.
• Manage materials, plant, and resources effectively.
• Monitor progress and report to the Site Agent/Project Manager.
• Conduct site inspections, H&S checks, and CDM compliance audits.
• Ensure RAMS, permits, inductions, and briefings are implemented correctly.
• Support cost control, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Attend client, stakeholder, and project meetings as required.
• Resolve technical issues and maintain quality standards throughout delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement and identify innovative working practices.
