Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Sub Agent to join their UK site operations. You will produce plans, risk assessments and method statements in alignment with Murphy procedures while ensuring safe, efficient site work and adherence to programme.

The ideal candidate will have civil engineering qualifications (HNC/HND or degree) and proven site experience, with strong knowledge of current health, safety and environmental regulations. Substation exposure is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/ Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in civil engineering projects.
• Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
• Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of the day-to-day running of a Construction site.
• Excellent knowledge of current civil engineering legislation, Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Able to read drawings and construct to them, work to a programme and keep site records.

Responsibilities

• Produce Construction Phase Plans (H&S Plans), Risk Assessments, Work Package Plans (Method Statements) and Task Briefings in line with Murphy procedures.
• Ensure workplaces under control have effective safety systems and supervision.
• Ensure project personnel have the necessary experience, training and knowledge to carry out duties.
• Organise and lead pre-construction meetings with supply chain to ensure works are fit-to-start.
• Attend and contribute to weekly site meetings regarding safety, progress, costs and programme.
• Proactively identify sustainability opportunities delivering environmental, social and commercial benefits.
• Lead and record subcontractor weekly progress meetings and KPI tracking.
• Promote Murphy Culture Development towards Zero Harm.
• Establish close working relationship with site supervision for cost-effective labour and plant.
• Lead weekly construction planning sessions with project delivery team.
• Experience on substations is preferable but not essential.
• Provide technical support to project delivery teams.
