Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Sub Agent to support civil engineering projects in the UK. You will produce safety plans, risk assessments and method statements, and lead pre-construction meetings with the supply chain.

You will ensure effective safety systems, supervise crews and ensure personnel have the right experience. Substation experience is preferred but not essential, and you will support site delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/ Degree Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in civil engineering projects; knowledge of safety and environmental issues.

Responsibilities

• Produce Construction Phase Plans (H&S Plans), Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Task Briefings; update regularly and communicate requirements to all personnel.
• Ensure workplaces have effective safety systems, supervision and arrangements.
• Ensure personnel have necessary experience, training and knowledge.
• Organise and lead pre-construction meetings with supply chain.
• Attend and contribute to weekly site meetings on safety, progress, costs and programme.
• Identify sustainability opportunities adding environmental, social and commercial value.
• Lead and record weekly subcontractor progress meetings and KPI tracking.
• Promote Murphy Culture Development toward Zero Harm.
• Establish close working relationships with site supervision for cost-effective labour/plants.
• Lead weekly construction planning sessions with project delivery team.
• Experience on substations is preferable but not essential.
• Provide technical support to project delivery teams.
