Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in Woking is recruiting an experienced Sub Agent for a major civil engineering project on a substantial S278 highways and earthworks package. You will manage site activities, coordinate subcontractors and resources, and ensure works meet programme, drawings and quality standards.

The role requires strong civil engineering knowledge, qualifications such as SMSTS/CSCS, and excellent communication to liaise with Site Agents, engineers and the client.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sub Agent on civil/highways projects.
• Strong experience with S278 works and earthworks.
• Relevant civil engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of construction methods, specifications and quality.
• SMSTS or related site qualifications; CSCS card.

• Coordinating subcontractors, labour, plant and materials.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with programme and specifications.
• Setting out and monitoring construction activities.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Completing daily records, permits, inspections and quality documentation.
• Liaising with Site Agents, Engineers, subcontractors and the client.
• Monitoring progress and identifying any potential programme issues.
• Supporting the planning and sequencing of upcoming works.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Sub Agent on civil engineering/highways projects.
• Strong experience with S278 works and earthworks.
• Relevant civil engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, specifications and quality requirements.
• SMSTS and relevant site qualifications.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively.
• CSCS card.

Package

• £350-£450 per shift, depending on experience.
• 12-month contract.
• Immediate start available.
• Outside IR35.
• Long-term opportunity on a significant highways/civil engineering package.
