Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join the Fanellan HVDC Project, based in Inverness area. You will be involved from Early Contractor Involvement through pre-construction and delivery.

The role requires degree with engineering discipline, CSCS, SSSTS, and prior Section Engineer experience. You will lead engineering teams, manage safety, BIM, and commercial interfaces, with a focus on timely delivery and efficiency.

• Degree, HND in Engineering or equivalent.
• CSCS Level - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager.

Responsibilities

• Set a personal example in health, safety and environmental matters by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures through method statements, risk assessments and briefings.
• Manage, supervise and mentor section, site and assistant engineers to ensure high levels of engineering control and generation of appropriate records.
• Maintain good working relationship with RE staff and supply chain.
• Adopt and promote a cost-conscious attitude through efficient use of company resources.
• Support the agent in operating the cost management system, the production of programmes and QF preparation; communicate with commercial staff to ensure all records for measurement and payment are prepared promptly.
• Adopt BIM technologies to deliver the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
• Communicate with general foreman to ensure adequate work preparation and resources availability.
• Assist the agent as required to procure necessary materials, sub-contracts and plant in sufficient time.
• Review with the agent regularly the performance, development and training needs of subordinate staff, including underperformance or potential resignations.
• Advise agent of any potential commercial or contractual liabilities.

BAM UK & Ireland are seeking an experience Sub Agent to join the team on the Fanellan HVDC Project.

You will be an integral member of the site team throughout the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), initial works, pre-construction phase, and project delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of delivering a major civil engineering project that will provide essential infrastructure to support future renewable energy developments across Scotland.

Your team

• The successful candidate will initially be based in either of our head offices in Inverness or Kilsyth before moving to site in Inverness-shire for project delivery.
