Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Freelance Sub Agent for highways works in Cambridge on a 6-month contract outside IR35. Rate: £(Apply online only) Ltd company available.

The Sub Agent will lead site activities, supervise teams, monitor quality and safety, and coordinate with engineers, the client, and the supply chain. Applicants should have strong infrastructure and earthworks experience and be proactive in resolving site issues.

Qualifications

• Management/Supervisor experience on civil engineering projects (structures/bridges preferred).
• Understanding of temporary works.
• Experience managing daily site activities, sequencing, and short-term programming.
• Good knowledge of quality management - inspections, ITPs, NCRs, and handover documentation.
• Ability to oversee and coordinate subcontractors.
• Good experience with quality assurance.
• Confident with method statements, risk assessments, and permits.
• Experience monitoring progress and productivity.
• Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with the Agent, engineers, client, and supply chain.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and resolving site issues.

Are you a skilled and proactive Sub Agent looking for a contract opportunity outside IR35?

We're looking for a Sub agent to support some highways works in Cambridge. If you have strong infrastructure and earthworks experience, we want to hear from you!
