Job summary

Ganymede Solutions is seeking a Sub Agent to join a major water infrastructure programme in Surrey. The role supports day-to-day delivery, coordinating site teams and subcontractors to maintain programme, quality, safety and commercial performance.

Reporting to the Agent or Project Manager, you will own work packages, liaise with engineers, foremen and client representatives, and mentor junior engineers on site in a live operating environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Sub Agent or Senior Site Engineer on civil, utilities, or water schemes.
• Water sector experience desirable (treatment, pumping, or clean water).
• Strong NEC contract knowledge.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Relevant safety qualifications (SMSTS, CSCS) and First Aid at Work.
• EUSR Water Hygiene and Temporary Works coordination desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in management and coordination of daily site operations across water infrastructure works.

• Monitor programme and production, reporting progress and risks.
• Review and approve RAMS, ITPs, and method statements.
• Manage NEC contract communications including compensation events and early warnings.

Sub Agent - Water Infrastructure Surrey | Contract | Competitive Day Rate

A major Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join a significant water infrastructure programme in Surrey. This is a technically demanding, long-term framework delivering upgrades across multiple treatment and pumping assets in a live operational environment, and represents an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to take on genuine responsibility within a well-established delivery team.

The Role

Reporting to the Agent or Project Manager, you will support the day-to-day delivery of works across the programme, coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and engineering functions to maintain programme, quality, safety, and commercial performance. You will be expected to take ownership of individual work packages and act as a key point of contact for engineers, foremen, and subcontractors on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the management and coordination of daily site operations across water infrastructure works
• Supervise site teams, engineers, and subcontractors across multiple concurrent work packages
• Monitor programme and production, reporting progress and flagging risks to the project team
• Review and approve RAMS, ITPs, and method statements
• Manage NEC contract communications including compensation events and early warnings
• Maintain quality, safety, and environmental standards throughout delivery
• Liaise with designers, stakeholders, and client representatives
• Support the development and mentoring of junior engineers on site

What You'll Need

• Proven experience as a Sub Agent or Senior Site Engineer on major civil engineering, utilities, or water infrastructure schemes
• Water sector experience desirable - sewage treatment, clean water, pumping stations, or similar
• Strong NEC contract knowledge
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams
• SMSTS, CSCS Black or Gold Card, and First Aid at Work
• EUSR Water Hygiene card desirable
• Temporary Works Coordinator qualification desirable
