Job summary

Empower Advisory UK, part of the BMD Group, leads a role at HPC in pre-construction across Civil Frameworks, planning and reviewing quality for complex works. The candidate will evolve from pre-construction activities to a delivery role on completion, reporting to the delivery manager.

The position requires Civil Construction Sub Agent experience, strong IT skills, and robust communication in highly regulated environments, with familiarity in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in Civil Construction Engineering at Sub Agent Level.
• High level IT skills including Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in highly regulated environments.
• Good knowledge of digital engineering software: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Draft and implement the pre-construction process for a specific scope within the Civil Framework at HPC, including planning, estimating, design deliverables and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with quality to ensure processes cover preparation, review and briefing of all quality documents.
• Understand design requirements involving Design Manager, Principal designer, Temporary Works and third-party suppliers.
• Ensure realistic programmes are prepared, managed, monitored and reviewed before handover to delivery team.
• Move to a delivery role during construction and report to the delivery manager.

Manage the pre-construction process within the Minor Civil Frameworks for a new area of work within the KBJV scope at Hinkley Point C. The candidate will be involved in finalising design, quality and H&S documentation ahead of the commencement of works on site.

During the construction phase, the candidate will be involved in delivering one section of works.

Role responsibilities

• Draft and implement the pre-construction process for a specific scope of work within the Civil Framework at HPC. This includes planning, estimating, design deliverables, quality documentation and programme. The deliverables are to be reviewed by the pre-construction manager prior to submission to the client.
• Liaise with quality department to ensure processes are in place for the preparation, review and briefing of all quality documents and procedures associated with new work areas.
• Understand the design requirements for each work area including, Design Manager, Principal designer, Temporary Works Department and third party supplier/Manufacturers.
• Ensuring realistic programmes are prepared, managed, monitored and reviewed prior to handover to delivery team.
• Once the pre-construction stage is completed, the candidate will move to a delivery role for a section of the new works. During the construction stage they will report to the delivery manager.

Person specification

Essential

• Prior experience in Civil Construction Engineering at Sub Agent Level
• High level of IT skills including Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• High level of written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in highly regulated environments
• Good knowledge of digital engineering software ( Autocad, Civil 3D, Naviswork)

Desirable

• Previous experience with software-based quality system (Dalux or similar)
• Knowledge of Civil Engineering or Academic qualification sufficient to attain Chartered member level of ICE.
• Previous experience in Temporary Works (TWC and/or TWD)

Role Based At HPC Office. No Other Travelling Required.

Working from home may be possible on occasions, although consistent site attendance is required due to the nature of the project.
