Job summary

Unity College in Burnley, Lancashire is seeking a Pastoral Support Officer to join the team. You will work alongside the Head of Year and Deputy Head of Year to identify and remove barriers to learning and to support students and families so every pupil can thrive.

You will be experienced with working with young people, able to build strong relationships and routines, and committed to the highest standards at all times. A supportive environment and modern facilities are offered.

Qualifications

• Good standard of literacy and numeracy: English and Maths GCSE at a minimum of Grade C or equivalent
• Evidence of continued professional development

Responsibilities

• Identify and remove barriers to learning for students.
• Work as part of a triad with the Head of Year and Deputy Head of Year.
• Develop and sustain strong relationships and routines to support students’ learning and wellbeing.
• Model and maintain high standards at all times.
