Job summary

Queen Mary's College in Basingstoke is seeking a Learning Mentor & Wellbeing Specialist to provide academic mentoring, wellbeing and mental health support to students. You will lead academic skills sessions, act as a key contact for wellbeing needs and contribute to safeguarding and student support systems to create an inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Comfortable engaging with and supporting students with SEN needs.
• Strong understanding of mental health needs in young people.
• Able to lead small group sessions and manage a caseload.
• Excellent communication with staff, students and carers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the provision and delivery of academic skills support across the College.
• Design and chair small group workshops and 1:1 sessions on study skills.
• Develop resources to promote confidence, resilience and academic success.
• Monitor and improve support programmes for effectiveness.
• Act as the first point of contact for emotional wellbeing and safeguarding.
• Coordinate crisis management plans and ensure timely referrals.
• Deliver weekly wellbeing activities and mindfulness sessions.
• Assist Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in safeguarding duties.
