Job summary

NKC Gravesend College is recruiting five Pastoral Support Coaches to provide pastoral support, guidance and early intervention so students overcome barriers, stay engaged with their studies and achieve their goals.

Reporting to the College Deputy Principal, you will build positive relationships with students, work with curriculum teams, Welfare & Safeguarding and Learning Support, and coordinate with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure timely, effective support.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral support, mentoring, youth work, education, welfare or a similar setting would be beneficial
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students from diverse backgrounds
• Able to work collaboratively with teachers, welfare and safeguarding teams

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support, guidance and early intervention to help students overcome barriers and stay engaged with their studies
• Identify barriers to attendance, engagement, retention and achievement and provide timely support
• Build positive relationships with students and work with curriculum teams, Welfare & Safeguarding and external agencies to ensure appropriate support
