Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support students at a Good-rated secondary school in Walsall. You will work with pupils, teachers and families to improve behaviour, engagement and attitudes to learning.

The role involves one-to-one and small-group mentoring, building trusted relationships and supporting students to re-engage with learning in a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, ideally in a secondary school or pastoral setting.
• Calm, consistent and positive approach to managing challenging behaviour.
• Ability to build professional relationships with students while maintaining boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring for students with behavioural or pastoral needs.
• Build trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model.
• Support students to understand and manage their behaviour and choices.
• Help students develop confidence, resilience and social skills.
• Assist with re-engagement with learning after behavioural incidents.
• Collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to implement support strategies.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Walsall.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting students who may experience challenges with behaviour, engagement, attendance or emotional regulation.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students, teachers, pastoral staff and families to help improve behaviour, engagement and attitudes to learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group mentoring for students who require additional behavioural or pastoral support.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with students and acting as a consistent and positive role model.
• Supporting students to understand and manage their behaviour and make positive choices.
• Helping students develop confidence, resilience, emotional regulation and social skills.
• Supporting students to re-engage with learning following behavioural incidents or periods of difficulty.
• Working alongside teaching and pastoral staff to implement individual behaviour and support strategies.

About You

• Has experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school, education, youth work or pastoral setting.
