Job summary

Chatham Grammar, part of the University of Kent Academies Trust, seeks a dedicated Pastoral Manager to support wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development across our student body. You will work with the Inclusion Team and Assistant Principal to ensure positive learning environments and sound safeguarding practices.

You will mentor students, track data, liaise with families and external agencies, and contribute to Early Help plans to support individual progress.

Qualifications

• Experience with young people to resolve pastoral issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Empathy, resilience and emotional intelligence.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of young people.

Responsibilities

• Support the Culture for Learning policy and high behaviour expectations.
• Mentor students to develop positive behaviours.
• Monitor behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and wellbeing data.
• Maintain records of incidents and interventions.
• Provide mediation and restorative approaches to resolve conflicts.
• Participate in pastoral supervision rotas and safeguarding processes.
• Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies as needed.
• Act as safeguarding key adult for identified students.
